Scheduling & Lessons

How do I reschedule my child’s lessons?

Use the 'Change/Cancel Appointment' link in the lesson confirmation email. Unlimited make-ups are offered for canceled lessons, but no refunds are issued.

Check your spam/junk folder. If it’s not there, contact info@machikomusicart.com.

Will there be lessons during Spring Break, 2025?

Our spring break is from March 30th to April 5th.

Practice & Progress

What should my child be practicing at home?

For piano students, we place bookmarks on the pages students have learned during the lesson. While their homework is to review the bookmarked pages until their next lesson, they can always go back to previous pages and keep polishing the songs they’ve learned before.

For Art, each student has been given a sketchbook that we encourage drawing one page per week. 

How can I help my child practice at home?

  • Encourage a consistent practice schedule, even if it’s just 5–10 minutes daily.

  • Create a distraction-free environment.

  • Use the bookmarks for what to practice.

  • Celebrate small achievements to keep them motivated.

  • Use apps like Piano Maestro, Rhythm Swing, Note Rush, FlashNote Derby and for Art Lessons: Procreate to make practice fun.

How will I know if my child is progressing?

We regularly evaluate your child’s progress during lessons. Additionally, feel free to reach out for feedback through email at info@machikomusicart.com

Studio Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

Lessons can be canceled or rescheduled up to 3 hours in advance. No refunds are issued, but unlimited make-ups are available.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

No, we do not offer sibling discounts at this time.

What happens if there’s a studio closure?

Parents will be notified via email or text, and lessons will be rescheduled.

Can we switch to a different class?

Changes can be made based on availability, but we appreciate keeping the current schedule until at least mid-May while I am on maternity leave.

What is the policy for terminating lessons?

We require at least one month’s notice for lesson termination. Please email at brandon@machikomusicart.com in advance to ensure a smooth transition.

Payments & Fees

How do I make payments?

Payments are due on the first day of the lesson each month.

 

  • Set up a recurring payment via Zelle 

  • Set up a personal reminder to make a payment each month via Zelle. 

  • Set up auto-pay via credit card.
